The Junior Competition is one of four competitions run annually by Port Macquarie Touch Association.
Our Junior Competition runs from October through to December each year at Tuffins Lane Sports Fields.
Tuesdays: U7 & U9, U11 Boys and Girls.
Start date is 14 October 2025
4.15pm start time - U7 and U9
5:00pm start time - U11
Finals for U11 Boys and Girls - 16 December 2025.
No finals for U7s nor U9s but they will have games on 16 December 2025
Thursdays: U13, U15 Boys and Girls
Start date is 16 October 2025
4.15pm start time U13
5:00pm start time U15
Finals for U13 and U15 Boys and Girls - 18 December 2025.
Junior Representative trials are conducted in September.

Which competition should you be in?
U7, U9, U11 AGE FLEXIBILITY POLICY
The U7-U11 competitions are non-competitive.
Coaching:
It is proposed that the first week of U7 and U9 will be coaching sessions
undertaken by qualified Port Macquarie Touch Coaches and our World Cup representative players.
This will enable all kids to be involved and give them the confidence to play and have fun.
Team Composition:
We require each team to have a minimum of 10 players up to a maximum of 14 players.
Where a team comprises a group of friends who wish to play as a team and a few of them are just over the age limit for the competition, PMTA will allow up to a maximum of three (3) overage children to play in that lower age division.
For example, a team in the U9 competition comprises 8 x nine year olds and two kids turning 10 years old before 31 December. Instead of forcing the whole team to play in the U11 competition, they will be able to all play in the U9s this summer season.
Number of Players Allowed on the Field
U7s ONLY: LOCAL RULE - 8 PLAYERS ALLOWED ON THE FIELD PER TEAM (UNDER REVIEW)
All other age groups: 6 players on the field as per Rules of Touch Edition 8
Match Duration
A match is 35 minutes in duration, comprising two (2) x 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half-time break.
There is no time off for injury during a match.
Local competition conditions (weather, etc.) may vary the duration of a match.
We will start the 2025 Junior Competition
on Tuesday 14 October and Thursday 16 October.

Port Macquarie Touch Competition Fee of $70.00 which includes playing singlet and shorts:
You only pay the Annual NSW Touch Membership Fee once per year.
You can play in multiple competitions across NSW as well as representative tournaments across Australia.
